I am really looking forward to this year's SPAF! I thoroughly enjoyed the 2010 programme and as a dancer I was thrilled to be exposed to such amazing and thought provoking work. I am especially excited to perhaps be a part of the Salome production.

I saw crazy swan lake and anti gravity. Both were fantastic.Crazy swan lake was a very visceral performance art piece with lots of real, raw chicken parts. Yes that's right, raw chicken. I found myself cringing from the thought of salmonella all over the stage, but also leaning in to the stage at the edge of my seat to see what he would do next. It was a solo, with elements of psuedo- ballet, brilliant use of props, and a whole lot of exhausting emotion. I loved it and would watch it again!

Anti gravity was an amazing display of contemporary dance with very clear and precise elements of technical prowess. The dancers were absolutely well trained and rehearsed in an aesthetic of fluidity as well as rhythmic complexity. The dancers were absolutely captivating, but honestly the lighting didn't flatter the performance. Also, though the company is from Korea, it had diversity... there was a foreigner in the mix.

Bravo!

I enjoyed some and didn't like others...but this Hamlet production was by far the best I've seen at the festival so far...in fact it is in the top 10, maybe even top 5, productions i've seen in my life.
