Lucid choreography characterized by witty humor, sadness, romance and a move away from the everyday humdrum of life. A daring piece from Youngsoon Hue, invited to the Joyce Theater in New York, the Mecca of international modern dance! |
| Like protagonists in the TV series popular in the 50s and 60s in the US and Europe, each of the dancers describes his or her story - from that of the wife who has witnessed her husband's infidelity, to the unhappy businessman, to the hair stylist who prides herself in her ability to make other women beautiful, and to the woman who is anxious about her boyfriend's infidelity. Every one of them is an ordinary person with his or her own story to tell us through dance. A beautiful romance and a succession of sadness and witty, hilarious incidents are unveiled to you. |

Young-Soon Hue moved to the Monaco Royal Ballet Academy while a student at Sunwha Arts High School to study under Marika Besobrasova. After joining the Frankfurt Ballet Company, she worked with choreographers such as Ergon Madison, John Cranko, George Balanchine and Uwe Scholz. She has danced at the Zurich Ballet Company and Basel Ballet Company. She then served as the main ballerina and coach at the Dusseldorf Ballet Company. It was during this period that she had the chance to work alongside William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Niels Christ, Heinz Schupheleri, Uwe Scholz, Nacho Duato, Christopher Bruce, Hans Van Manen, and Yuri Vamoss. Judith Jameison, Paul Taylor, Roy Thobias, and James Jeon.
Following her retirement as a dancer in the summer of 2004, she has been working as a ballet tutor and lecturer at ballet schools in Europe, the US, Korea and some countries in Africa. Elle Chant, which she choreographed with serious acclaim, has placed her on the ranks of notable choreographers. She worked as deputy choreographer for Mats Ek's Carmen performed by the National Ballet in 2006 while premiering her Backstage. She is keeping herself busy as a choreographer at other companies. Currently, besides choreography, she is serving as a coach in Dusseldorf and a professor in Korea. |
