Interpreting the traditional Korean Pansori 'Sugoongga' into a language of movement!

Selected as the Best Choreography by the Critics in 2008 at the 11th Young Dancers Collection hosted by the Dance Forum and nominated for the Grand Prix at the 1st Korea Dance Awards, this piece has been acclaimed for having set a new standard and direction in creative dance in Korea today.

Choreographic Principles of [DA•TUM]

* Collaboration between Dance (movement), Pansori (plot), and Speakers (music space)
: To create a multi-genre, modern 'Sugoongga'.

* Space effect of sound
: To create greater spatial quality of sound by arranging speakers vertically into two layers of top and bottom

* Symbolic arrangement of movement (minimalistic influence)
: Pansori contains lines that help the audience gain an understanding of the plot. The choreography should symbolize the plot to create both optical and auditory effects.

* Reflect the absurdity of modern society
: Apply elements of parody contained in 'Sugoongga' to the choreography to establish a caricature.

* Roles that reflect the double faces of animals (rabbit, tortoise, tiger etc.) and humans
: Express the character of the animals in the story through personification with wit and humor.
